Itty, Bitty Kitty

The itty, bitty kitty that now resides with us getting some afternoon grub. We've read that when they are this little you can do everything right and the kitty still might not make it. So praying this one is one of the lucky ones. :)

Birthday Card

My father-in-law's birthday was this past week. The card I made him was inspired by one I had seen in a Papercraft magazine.

The verbage saying inside of the card.

Oh, Canada!

Last weekend one of they things we did was to make a run for the border. We went to Granville Island in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Granville Island has this huge Public Market on it that reminds me of Pike's Place Market or China Town. However, they have more ready to eat items. We bought some fresh bread and cheese and was enjoying a snack.

This is the view we enjoyed while eating. They had several of these cute little ferries zipping around. I kind of wanted to go on one but we only watched this time. I think their are some around Seattle I could always ride on.

The weather was absolutely beautiful and gloriously warm.

There were strips of cool little shops. Some had handcraft items and others had specialty items.

Another storefront picture.

Karrina was testing out a hammock that reminded her of hers at home. :)

We also made a stop over in Gas Town before heading back to the USA. They were having a motorcycle show when we where there. In the picture above is this cool steam powered clock that was located there.

And of course pretty lights with hanging flowers. We were going to walk around Stanley Park but there was a big Indian festival going on and traffic/parking was terrible.

Southwest Washington Quilt Shop Hop

The Southwest Washington Quilt Shop Hop is coming up Oct. 22 - 31. This year's fabric is Sophisticate by Ro Gregg. This fabric is available in two colorways but the store I talked to said pink and grey so I think it is probably only this colorway. Each store will be giving away a fat eighth of one of the above fabrics.

Last weekend when we were visiting my friend, up near Bellingham, WA, we went to the Lynden fair. This paper pieced duck quilt that was displayed at the fair was made by my friends mom for her brother.

This was one of the quilts that Ben really liked that was on display at the fair.

Cupcakes

These cool ice cream cones are actually cupcakes placed in cones and then decorated. Too cute.

I thought these felted cupcake pincushions were extremely cute too. They remind me off the one I made from Betz White's pattern but they are a little different.

This is a cute embroidery kit that another blogger put together for a little girl's birthday. I think I would be tempted to steal it.

Other Creations

Since I can finally show them off, here are a couple more of my creations. The card on the right went with Heather and Nigel's wedding gift. The card on the right was my dad's birthday card.

These were a couple of gift tags I made for the purpose of looking cute on two of my souvenir gifts from Hawaii for friends.

Heather's Wedding Festivities

These were the cute wedding favor's Heather's mom made. I joined in helping to add the pieces of Nigella and Heather, plus tie the bows. I also helped sew buttons on the groomsmen's pants for their suspenders to hook onto.

Here Heather was just starting to open my gift(s) to her at her bachelorette party.

The card on the right was for Aimee's baby shower and the card on the left was for Heather's bachelorette party.

I made this apron as part of Heather's bachelorette party gift from me. I figured it could be warn with as many or as little clothing and she'd like. ;) I'm really happy with how it turn out. May have to make myself one in this style.

Heather had three bridesmaids and one bridesman. I have tons of picture but I won't bore you.

Of course my favorite party of the wedding, "The Kiss."

Mary Heather and Karrina help me out by taking lots of pictures with my camera before, after, and during the service.

Karrina and I were entrusted with using flowers to decorate the cake. It was a fun endeavor.

Aimee's Baby Shower

Aimee pretending to be surprised by the gift I made her (I accidentely sent her a picture of the dress a while back when I was trying to share it with her sister.) I need to figure out if there is a setting on my camera with a faster shutter speed for motion.

Cute little owl and dress baby gift close up.

Baby Ava Jean, Melanie (Aimee's sister) daughter who was born in March.

Sisters at the baby shower. Made the trip more enjoyable with a companion.

Cousins. (Kimberly, Kristina, Dana, Aimee, and Melanie)

Belated Birthday

I was in Hawaii over my sister's birthday so I didn't get a chance to sing to her and eat cake. So when she came over to wash her car after work we had an impromptu party complete with cake.

A couple days latter we went in soaked in some Washington sunshine on Alki Beach.

You could see the Space Needle from the beach if you looked in the right direction and also watch the ferries come and go. A rather cute community.
