My friend Karrina turned me onto to watching a web cam of an owl box. The mommy owl's name is Molly and her mate is McGee. Their has been a live stream on the internet at least since the eggs were laid. You can not see all the babies in this picture but she has for babies. The last hatched is almost four weeks old. Her owl box is located in California. If you want to see Molly and her babies check out this website.

Summer is coming

I found a cute tutorial online for spiffing up a pair of Old Navy flip flops. I thought I'd share with my fellow crafty friends.

Thank You Cards

I had fun making a bunch of thank you cards and practicing different techniques. Here we have sewn on buttons for embellishment.

On this card I used a ribbon punch so I could then thread ribbon on the front. I also used a clear glaze type glue on parts of the strawberries to add texture/depth but it doesn't show up very well in the photo. The green shading around the strawberries was done with distress ink.

I have really been enjoying my distress ink as the shading and the flowers where done using it. I used the masking technique on the main flower to add the stems and on the strawberries in the previous card.

This card features one of the new cuttlebug embossing folders I received for my birthday. I used my distress inks again to add color.

This card was made by sewing strips of fabric onto the front of the card.

This final card made use of a stamp set I received for my birthday. The images in black where first stamped on and then embossed. I then the distress ink and water to get the cool back ground effect.

Birthday Quilt Top

Now you kind of see me.....

Now you don't see me at all and you know that the quilt is taller than me. :) I finished sewing the quilt top together today. It was made using my special birthday fabric. I still need to quilt and bind it but I don't have all the supplies for that yet so it will just have to patiently wait.

Polar Bear Paws

I will be hanging out with my sister and friend this weekend and thought we needed some treats. I made these cute polar bear paw cupcakes I originally saw here.
