It's Officially Christmas Season

I had to put my Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving. It is kind of dwarfed in this room but it still holds the pretty lights and has room for presents underneath.

And of course room for a little kitty/inspector to lay underneath as well.

Shoebox

One of the things I enjoy doing at Christmas time is packing a shoe box for some kid in another country as part of Operation Christmas Child. This year Ben and I decided to pack a shoe for a girl between the ages of 5-9.

As you can see we had lots of fun picking what to put in it. Today I dropped the box of at one of the many drop off locations. This year your suppose to be able to track which country your box ends up going to so I am anxious to learn where it ends up traveling to. :)

Christmas music, CHECK! Pretty snowflakes, CHECK! Glitter, CHECK! Yummy smelling candle, CHECK! Cozy pajamas, CHECK! Makings for a wonderful day. My once were nut tins now disguised as pretty little Christmas treat holders just waiting to be filled.

A couple of the Christmas gift tags I made today. I tried to remember to get equal glitz on myself. :)

Beginning to End

This past Sunday we watched the launching/Christening of Katie M., which is the cat boat Ben helped build at the Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building. In the picture above he was working on something or other for the boat. The preliminary beginnings of the boat can be seen in the background.

Here is the man who commissioned her and his son decorating her with pretty flags.

A little bit of an above shot to give you a look at the cockpit.

This shot gives you a little glimpse inside the cabin of the boat. Ben did a lot of the work inside the cabin. It appears they haven't touched it since he worked on it as it still needs to be stained and finished.

Here is Ben proudly posing on his baby before it sets off out its maiden tow across the bay.
