It's Birthday Time

Here is the birthday girl and maybe just as important the birthday cake. :)

The other important ingredient to make a great birthday, other than cake, are presents. OK, so maybe neither are necessary but they are both greatly appreciated when included.

On the couch from left to right is Ben, myself and weirdo on the end. Evidently it is too much to ask for both ends of the couch to pose nicely for the camera at the same time.

Birthday Wishes

This card and envelope is for my cousin who is turning 17 tomorrow. I discovered that a punch I never really used before worked perfectly for creating holes for me to lace ribbon through. I hove how the look turned out on the card. I also used my cuttlebug to create the two step flower on the front.

My second card is for one of my best friend's birthday. I really like the looks of the Hero Arts Fancy Dress stamp. I've been just waiting for an excuse to use it. I didn't have stamps of birds in flight but they are suppose to be helping to tie the ribbon on the dress just like they do in Cinderella.

Kermit the Frog

Here is my little friend who chose to say hello today. He has found himself a nice cool place inside the extra hose nozzle.

Everybody needs a dress to swish and swirl in, especially in the summer. This is my new dress to fit the bill. I saw it the other day in the store but it was on a manikin so I didn't think it would be my size. As luck would have it I ended up back at the same store yesterday and they had redressed the manikins over the weekend hanging my dress where I could reach it. Luck held out and not only was it still on sale but it fit. So I brought it home to be my swishy, swirly summer dress. I just love colors and design of the fabric.

My kind of fishing

For mother's day this year my dad gave me some pre-mother mother's day gifts. He paid for a couple Cuttlebug embossing folders and bought me this fishing tackle box to use for craft storage.

This is the top of the storage unit.

This is the first drawer/container. Each drawer has dividers you can place as you please I thought this drawer worked well with little compartments.

Drawer two, more loveliness.

The third and final drawer. I'm sure how I use my crafting tackle box will change around some depending on future accumulations but this is my starting point, an assortment of accessories.

Mother's Day Spread

I had an excuse to use my pretty stand again on Mother's Day. On the top are strawberries injected with cheesecake filling and homemade yogurt scones on the bottom. Bring on the calories. (Note my teapot in the background filled with Vanilla Almond Rooibos Tea.)

Our fake baking line chef, Krisitina, hard at work or hardly working, you decide.

The offspring of this celebrated mommy. Poor mommy.

And here we have Ben, the hash brown/potato king frying up another one of his delectable dishes.

Here is my mommy being surrounded by her offerspring to share some cheese with the camera.

In order to have mother's day there has to be children. In order to have children there has to be parents. Therefore, here a picture of the parents who made this mother's day possible.

Nate's Graduation

Nate (left) and Ben (right) at Nate's graduation from Medical Assisting school. Note the 70's suite that has found it's way under his gown. In this picture he had traded the traditional graduation cap for his Fedora.

Mommy Cards

A new favorite crafting tool. This green contraption is my Cuttlebug baby that I scored at Michael's on a fifty percent of sale. My sister would have you know that she started it because she bought one first and that after I bought one my cousin bought one. It can be used to manually emboss and die cut.

This is the mother's day card I made for my mother-in-law. I used the floral fantasy embossing folder on my Cuttlebug for the top part of the card and to make the flap of the envelope match.

This is the card I made for my very own mommy. I had to embossing folders that were similar so decided to use the one with out the birds on the envelope flap. On the card I inked over the design so that it would be more prominent.

Today I made delicious Pistachio cream puffs. I predict they will not last long. To top it all off it gave me an excuse to enjoy my pretty spring treat stand.
